The Hellenic National Commission of
UNESCO is part of the overall
constitutional architecture of the
Organization. Set up by the Greek
governement in accordance with the
Article
VII
of
the
UNESCO
Constitution, the National Commission
operates, on a permanent basis, for
the purpose of associating the national
governmental and non-governmental
bodies in education, sciences, culture
and communication with the work of
the Organization.

The Hellenic Soil Society aims to
advance the discipline and practice of
soil science and it fosters the transfer
of relevant knowledge. The Society
provides information about soils in
relation
to
crop
production,
environmental quality, ecosystem
sustainability, bioremediation, waste
management, recycling, and wise land
use.

Engineers was founded in 1993 and is
membero or EurAgEng, the European
Society of Agricultural Engineers. Its
goal is to promote the profession of
Agricultural

Biosystems
Engineering and the people who serve
it.

objectives of HAICTA are a) to foster
research & development of Information
and Communications Technologies for
the benefit of Agriculture, Food Quality
and Environment; b) to encourage the
adoption of initiatives and organise
working groups for the detailed
consideration of relevant scientific
issues; c) to promote partnership
meetings and contacts with other
companies in the bio and earth
sciences; d) to carry out scientific and
educational
activities
for
the
development of Information and
Communications in bio and earth
sciences and e) to contribute to the
development of scientific and technical
information through conferences and
other publications.
